Exclusive meeting with Francesco Visani, master of wines at Marchesi Antinori!
Since 2006, he has been the link between the prestigious Place de Bordeaux and importers the world over.
Located between Siena and Florence, the Tenuta Tignanello estate is a jewel of Tuscany.
In this sixth episode, Caroline Meesemaecker takes you to discover the secrets of Solaia, Tignanello and Marchesi Antinori Chianti Classico.
Can you explain what your responsibilities are at Solaia?
“I have been working at Antinori for almost 18 years, and for the last 15 years, I have been in charge of Solaia. I am the Sales Manager for Solaia.”
If you had to summarize Solaia in three words, what would you say?
“Grace, elegance, finesse.”
Why did Solaia arrive at La Place de Bordeaux 14 years ago?
“We started working with La Place in 2010, if I’m not mistaken, and the reason was simple. At that time, we were very well distributed in most countries around the world, but we were not strong enough in the Asian market.
However, we knew that La Place de Bordeaux was quite well positioned in those markets, so we approached La Place to help us develop the brand’s reputation, especially in the Asian market, particularly in mainland China, which was our major concern almost 15 years ago.
That is the main reason why we came to Bordeaux, and we began our collaboration with La Place de Bordeaux.”
