Vitalie Taittinger, President and CEO of Champagne Taittinger

Champagne Taittinger

The importance of the “heart”…

In this third episode, Caroline Meesemaecker talks with Vitalie Taittinger, President and CEO of Champagne Taittinger, about the importance of family heritage and the place of the “heart” in strategic decision-making.

The notion of family is very important at Taittinger. What does it mean to you?

“It evokes the idea of looking ahead to the long term and making heartfelt decisions because we also inherit a history, and that history inevitably leads us to a very specific place.”

Taittinger in three words, what would you say?

“I would say family, Chardonnay and life.”

What is your vision of Taittinger today? What are your ambitions?

“Our vision today is that the House has everything: it has an inheritance, due to its construction, and it is also very contemporary. It can position itself on issues such as climate. With 288 hectares, we are right in the heart of this environmental question, and we are really focused on the idea that everything today must be built with nature, looking far into the future.

It’s also a House that is extremely connected to culture and art, which allows it to remain alive and be completely in tune with its time while having this past that makes it beautiful, strong, and legitimate.

I am here to always promote the wines, ensuring they are the most important promise of the House, and that every day we are there to serve them first.”
